FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Columbus, OH - After-Death Plan is excited to announce they are recipients of an Artist In The Community resource grant awarded by the Greater Columbus Arts Council. The grant will help fund the purchase of camera and lighting equipment.
“We made several videos for songs on our latest album, Psycho Social Sexual, using a basic set up,” bassist Constantine Hondroulis explained. “We’re DIY with just about everything we do and we learned quite a bit making our first four videos. With this grant we’ll be able to use more sophisticated techniques to convey our ideas.”
"Working in a new medium has been incredible," vocalist Lesley Ann Fogle added. "We are natural storytellers who think descriptively from a sound perspective and didn't know there was an expressive gap before creating video helped us shift everything to fill in that visual sense. Things are moving along like liquid.
We’re proud to live in a city that recognizes the value of its artists, and are very thankful to the Arts Council for its acknowledgement and help as we continue to make our art.”
The Greater Columbus Arts Council funds artists and arts organizations and provides marketing services that support artists and organizations through the ColumbusMakesArt.com event calendar and Artist Directory. It also produces the annual Community Arts Partnership Awards recognizing business and individual contributions to the community and the Columbus Arts Festival.
Arts Council programming provides access to the arts for people of all cultural backgrounds, economic status, sexual orientation, age and physical ability and ensures broad public access to the arts. Supporting Columbus artists, and arts and culture organizations enhances the cultural image of the Greater Columbus area.
After-Death Plan is the Columbus duo of Lesley Ann Fogle and Constantine Hondroulis. Their songs cross genres and share a cinematic quality with female vocals that dart through territories of early 4AD, PJ Harvey, and Laurie Anderson but with an undeniably original style.
